  • Fee for 1 academic year: General medicine 11 000€/ Dental medicine 12 500€

  • Language of program: English

  • Number of accepted students: 240(GM)/ 35(DM)

  • About the program: The standard course of study lasts 6 years (12 semesters). Each academic year starts in September and lasts till the end of August of the following year. The academic year is divided into two semesters, the winter semester (spread over September to February) and the summer semester (spread over February to August). After passing the state examination the graduate is conferred the degree MUDr. – Medicinae Universae Doctor (Doctor of Medicine).
    Since the academic year 2001/2002 the credit system has been introduced that is compatible with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Courses during the first to third year provide theoretical and pre-clinical lectures, labs and practical classes, the remainder of the fourth to sixth year include diverse clinical experiences. General Medicine and Dentistry courses are held in more than 50 theoretical and clinical institutes and departments.

  • About the program: The study program General Medicine is a joint program from the first and second levels of studies. Students obtain theoretical knowledge and preclinical and clinical subjects. Therapeutics and clinical methods also play an important role in this program. Furthermore, students gain preconditions (after compulsory practice, postgraduate studies and exams) for specialisation in the respective branches or in medical research. Graduates are awarded with a degree MUDr. (Doctor of General Medicine), which entitles them to work within the European Union and in most countries of the world.

LF SZU BRATISLAVA 

  • University: Slovak Medical University

  • Faculty: The Faculty of Medicine of SZU

  • Study program: General Medicine/ Dental Medicine

  • Length of program: 6 years

  • Fee for 1 academic year 9,000 €

  • Language of program: English

  • Number of accepted students: 80(GM)/ 20(DM)

  • About the program: The curriculum is divided into compulsory, compulsory optional, and optional (voluntary selection) courses. A week may include a maximum of 38 hours of contact learning (direct teaching): lectures, practical lectures, clinical training, mandatory practice, diploma thesis, and state examination. The individual study includes a private study, consultations, essay writing, case studies, etc. Mandatory Practice includes:

    • Clinical training during the curriculum of the semester, as required in the study program.

    • Continuous clinical practice, as defined by the study program.

    All forms of professional practice take place under the direction of a university instructor.
    The maximum number of students per instructor during professional practice is 5.

  • About the program: The study program General Medicine at the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine has been rated as the best medical programme offered by Slovak universities in recent years.
